Thunder Bay Community Health Services (TBCHS) has provided full complement of primary, preventive and supplemental health services to residents of Northeastern Lower Michigan since its incorporation in 1981.  In July of 2007 we celebrated our 25th year of service.  Today, we operate five year-round health centers and provide services to over 13,000 patients a year in Montmorency, Presque Isle, Cheboygan, and Alpena Counties, and all the surrounding areas.  A staff of over 90 employees provide family practice health care services; dental services; immunizations; pharmacy services; preventative health care; family planning services; obstetrics and gynecology services (shared care); lab services; x-rays; counseling and therapy; acute care; HIV/AIDS counseling and testing; occupational medicine: outreach services; and health education.  These services are available at times that are convenient for the patient, presented in a culturally sensitive manner, and in a language the patient can understand.

Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. is accredited by “The Joint Commission”, and receives partial funding through the Department of Health and Human Services.  Over the years, TBCHS has collaborated with many local agencies in the public and private sectors.  We have provided nursing services within local schools, participated in grants with our District Health Department, and assisted with the grandparent and senior companion programs.
